THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL
PLOT OUTLINE:
No doubt you are familiar with the phrase –
“They seek him here – They seek him there”
Well, the “him” in question is none other than our dashing hero – “The Scarlet Pimpernel”. Based on the novel by Baroness Orczy, we bring his story to life in this exciting new Broadway Musical
The action is set in 1794 during the terrible and bloody French Revolution. Madame Guillotine is very busy parting the heads of many innocent French men and women from their bodies.
Who can save these people?
One man defies the Revolutionaries and, time after time, plans and executes daring rescues with his small band of men.
Who is this saviour? He is only known by his calling card, a red, star-shaped flower, the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Having just come home from France on business, Sir Percy Blakeney introduces his new French wife to the delights of England. Sir Percy sings “You are my home” until he realises there is a dark side to his beautiful wife. Can he trust her?
Meanwhile, news is spreading of the Pimpernel’s success. Every plan the dark and powerful Chauvelin makes, is thwarted.
The plot unfolds with treachery, romance and comedy, climaxing in a dramatic sword-fight.
But how does the story end..?
