Our principal and ensemble rehearsals are well underway for October’s production of “Jekyll And Hyde ~ The Musical.
The demanding dual role of Dr Henry Jekyll and Mr Edward Hyde was won by CHRIS SIMMONS, well-known to our audiences for his recent portrayals of Rooster Hannigan in “Annie,” and Nathan Detroit in “Guys And Dolls” amongst others.
He will be working alongside two wonderful singer-actresses; LINZI STEFANOV, seen as Miss Adelaide in “Guys And Dolls” and as Nancy in “Oliver!” to name but two, and GINA PHILLIPS who has also played many roles for BOST, such as Mrs Potts in Disney’s “Beauty And The Beast” and Hope Harcourt, the well-connected debutante in “Anything Goes.”
Linzi is taking on the role of Lucy Harris, a kind-hearted girl who has had to resort to the “oldest profession” in order to survive, and who falls for Jekyll’s gentle, sympathetic manner when he treats her injuries inflicted by Hyde. Meanwhile, Gina is playing the character of Jekyll’s devoted fiancee, Lady Emma Carew, who supports her husband-to-be throughout his research and has promised to remain beside him through all.
Jekyll’s best friend and lawyer, John Utterson, will be played by TONY PRINCE, another regular BOST principal. Two of Tony’s favourite roles for BOST have been Sky Masterson in “Guys And Dolls” and Fagin in “Oliver!” amongst many.
The other principal parts have been cast as follows:
