BOST & Elsie Kelly have been selected as finalists in the Liverpool Echo Awards, for the Arts & Performance Award category.
Over the past few months the Liverpool ECHO, in association with SP Energy Networks, have been searching for the stars in the community, the people who make Merseyside such a great place. The awards celebrate the achievements of truly remarkable people. Nominees come from all walks of life and from all age groups but they have one thing in common, they are an inspiration to others.
We have been recognised for our commitment to the arts, thanks to the hard work put in week after week by our dedicated performers and off-stage teams.
We encourage all of our members to develop their creative talents and we take great satisfaction in seeing our younger singers develop into confident all-round performers. As a result, many former members have subsequently gone on to make a career within the industry as performers, choreographers and musical directors.
Additionally, the invaluable non-performing members who take responsibility for organising ticket-bookings, costumes, props, fundraising, stage management and general administration, work tirelessly to keep the society running smoothly.
BOST has been an integral part of the Liverpool City Region arts scene over the past 93 years and this shortlisting is timed to recognise our creative achievements under the direction of Elsie Kelly, who has been BOST Resident Director for almost half of this time.
We are now looking forward to meeting other finalists during an uplifting night of celebration in the spectacular surroundings of the Rum Warehouse, in the Titanic Hotel , on Friday, September 20.
