The SS America sets sail from New York to London. Onboard – a glorious collection of colourful 1930s characters: a lovesick stowaway, a brassy nightclub evangelist with an eye for the men, a beautiful debutante and her doting (but dotty) mother, a boozy and lecherous old tycoon, a bumbling gangster disguised as a priest, a silly-ass English Lord with a mysterious past and a whole ship full of tap-dancing sailors and high-kicking chorus girls!
