THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE

THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE originated as a 1976 lavish film musical, starring Richard Chamberlain as the dashing prince and Gemma Craven as Cinderella herself. Written and scored by the Sherman brothers, who delighted us with their words and music in MARY POPPINS and CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG of the same era, THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE was selected as the Royal Command Performance motion picture for that year.

While retelling the enchanting fairytale of Cinderella, THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE is a real story about two people in love. It appeals to every generation of the family, with its much-loved storyline, favourite characters, charming music, sumptuous costumes, humour and romance, not forgetting that sprinkling of magic…
